Toward the next operating model for AI agents.

As AI agents move beyond chat into workflows that touch tools, state, and organizational context, the operating model matters as much as the AI model. USA Tech Lab is shaping a cloud-native agentic platform into a direction for how that work might remain bounded by identity, policy, budgets, evidence, and human oversight.

Autonomy needs an operating model.

The next era of agent work will need more than capable models. We are building how potential actions could be bounded: what an agent may do, what it may spend, what evidence it might leave, and when people review the work.

The opportunity is to make those operating boundaries part of the system design rather than a manual afterthought.

Current focus: We are defining what a future approach would need to prove before it earns a place in operational settings where named agents can work independently without a central orcehstrator Agent.
